Vintner's Notes:
This wine is named in honor of our founder, Dick Troon, who plied the rivers of Southern Oregon as a guide for many years.
Winemaker's Tasting Notes:
Explosive aromatics, including citrus and nectarine. There is great body in the mid-palate, which is juxtaposed against very racy acidity. This is our best Riesling yet.
Technical Notes:
Appellation: 100% Applegate Valley
Varietal Composition: 99% Riesling, 1% Voignier and Early Muscat
Vintage Conditions: A cool, late Spring delayed harvest by 2-3 weeks. This benefited the whites, especially Riesling, which was given ample hang time to develop intense fruit flavors at relatively low sugars.
Cellar Treatment: 100% stainless steel, No malolatic fermentation
Alcohol: 11.5%
Residual Sugar: .5%
Production: 916 cases
Food Pairing Suggestions:
Ideal for Asian or Indian cuisine, or a day spent on the river.
