Troon Vineyard Wines

Troon Vineyard wines are estate grown, produced, and bottled. Making only small lots (mostly under 300 cases) of: Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, and Chardonnay; among others- allows us to consistently have new and interesting wines available.

Our winemaking philosophy has always been traditional and minimalist. We continue to strive to bring only the best fruit into the winery from small estate vineyards and to let the nature of the grapes express themselves. Our goal is to make the perfect wine, to make no compromises in our approach and our effort to achieve this. Our vineyards are harvested at traditional Bordeaux ripeness in small lots to create subtle wines with depth and character. We then finish our wines predominantly in French oak barrels for twelve to twenty four months depending on the grape and the amount of oak needed to perfect the wine.  We believe in bottle aging our wines for a minimum of six months to create harmony and balance.

In the vineyard, we follow organic principles and aspire to a closed loop, sustainable farming environment. No herbicides or pesticides are used, and all tending of the vines is done by hand. The goal is the perfect fruit.  This has led us to seek an organic certification from Oregon Tilth.  We have recently planted 16 acres of new varietals which include: Primitivo, Petite Syrah, Rousanne, Marsanne, and Sangiovese. Other acreage planted includes Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Chardonnay, Syrah, Viognier, and Cabernet Franc.

Here at Troon Vineyard we believe that being good stewards of the land will only improve the quality of our products and our relationships with the living beings around us, big and small.
